A "Vetro Pesante Sasso" vase by Alfredo Barbini, Murano, Italy. 1962.
Heavy glass sculpture/vase in layers of deep red, grey and clear. The outer most layer of gray glass is cut away to aloow the clear and deep red inner layers to be seen. The exterior is finished with fine incised lines to create a hazy matte finish. A very clever design in a form where the main pebble shape is elevated on a narrow foot. This design dates to 1962. Fully signed and with original label.
